The Fight City Podcast No. 29

Time for a new episode of The Fight City podcast, anchored as always by Alden Chodash, and joined this week by regular guest Zachary Alapi as they discuss a number of hot topics in the boxing world. Questions abound: Is Devin Haney ready for a battle with a top tier contender in the lightweight division? Would he have a chance to upset Vasiliy Lomachenko? Is Amanda Serrano the best female boxer on the planet, pound-for-pound? Can she beat Katie Taylor? Is Emanuel Navarrete the best super bantamweight in the world? Was Otto Wallin that good, or was Tyson Fury that bad? If Wallin had stuck to his game plan instead of focusing on that gruesome cut, might he have scored an upset? Is Fury vs Wilder II now in jeopardy? Check it out:

“Throughout the match Wallin, while never seriously threatening Fury, gave the man some regard as the lineal heavyweight champion of the world all he could handle as he connected with body punches and worked well at times on the inside. But he was hurt in round seven by Fury’s right hand and “The Gypsy King” had control over the next few rounds, thus cementing a points win. Still, Wallin was never intimidated and never gave up. The southpaw more than held his own and even stunned Fury in the final round with a pair of flush left hands.”           —From “The Weekend That Was” by Alden Chodash
