Fight City Podcast No. 6

Time for the latest edition of The Fight City Podcast! As usual, Alden Chodash is at the helm, with site editor Michael Carbert joining him in some rousing discussion on various boxing topics. This week: some banter about last weekend’s major fights and the performances of Maurice Hooker and Jaron Ennis; why Alex Saucedo is not Arturo Gatti; some thoughts on Fury vs Wilder and the two ways of looking at that match-up; and finally an exclusive interview with undefeated super middleweight Dario Bredicean who is getting ready for a showdown against Shakeel Phinn on the undercard of Adonis Stevenson vs Oleksandr Gvozkdy. Check it out:

“Florida is sleepy, for the old people,” says Dario, his voice rising with agitation. “And here’s another big contrast between the U.S. and Montreal. How about all of the coaches and gyms working together? Even if they do have differences. Why? Because they’re thinking of the fighters and not themselves. Back home? Forget it. We got like five gyms that don’t talk to each other. And when we go workout, we have to keep it quiet because we don’t want to piss off anyone. Here, we work with everybody and anybody. What’s wrong with that? It benefits us.”    — From “Brothers In Boxing” by Michael Carbert
