Lou DiBella: “I Would Love To Promote Wilder vs Fury”

Our correspondent at Saturday night’s Deontay Wilder vs Artur Szpilka event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Chris Connor, got some interesting video of Wilder’s promoter, Lou DiBella, holding court at the post-fight press conference and discussing, among other things, attendance figures and the success of the event thanks to Polish-American fight fans;  whether or not Alexander Povetkin is next for Wilder; what might be in the works for Andrzej Fonfara; the prospect of a Wilder vs Fury megafight, and how Tyson Fury “gets it.”

After Wilder’s more difficult than expected win over Szpilka, Fury interrupted the post-fight interview despite the efforts of arena security, commission members and DiBella himself to keep Fury away. But DiBella did not disapprove of Fury’s antics, far from it.

“I’m sure the commission’s not thrilled,” commented the founder of DiBella Entertainment and co-producer of Love Ranch. “You don’t want to see a guy get in the ring and create a ruckus. I was running around trying to block the guy … but I think it was more him trying to build something than him trying to be destructive in any way.” Check it out:
