The Fight City Podcast No. 30

Time for a new podcast with Alden Chodash who is joined this time by site founder and editor Michael Carbert as they help fight fans get set for Spence vs Porter. In addition to giving their thoughts on this weekend’s welterweight showdown, Chodash and Carbert look back at another big clash at 147 that happened twenty years ago, De La Hoya vs Trinidad, an historic fight for all the wrong reasons. A brief discussion of some of the great matches coming up for fight fans before the end of the year is then followed by an exclusive interview with trainer Howard Grant as he gives his take on Spence vs Porter and makes a bold prediction. Check it out:

‘You can make the case that this match-up should have happened a while ago. You can also point out that one of the two combatants didn’t look very good his last time out. And you can be a total killjoy and remind us how the duel we really want to see at welterweight isn’t Spence vs Porter, but Spence vs Terence “Bud” Crawford. But even so, no one can dispute the fact that “Showtime Shawn” vs “The Truth” is still a top-shelf match-up and any fight fan worth his or her salt is going to be checking it out.’      — From “Spence vs Porter: The Fight City Picks”
